AIMAN College of Arts and Science for Women was established by the AIMAN Education and Welfare Society as a religious minority institution with a primary objective of providing higher education to the socially backward section of the society in general and Muslim minority women in particular. The college was inaugurated in the year 2000 in Tiruchirappalli,Tamil Nadu, with 50 students registered in 3 undergraduate courses.

The College is located at K. Sathanur, off K.K Nagar, Tiruchirappalli Town, just 5 km away from the Tiruchirappalli Railway Junction, Central Bus Stand and Airport. The College has now grown in length & breadth. The College now offers 11 Undergraduate and 4 Postgraduate courses, viz., B.A. English, BBA, B.Com, B.Sc. Computer Science, B.C.A, B.Sc.Nutrition& Dietetics, B.Sc. Mathematics, B.Sc. Physics, B.Sc. Apparel and Fashion Technology, B.Com. Computer Application, B.Sc. Psychology, M.A English, M.Sc. Computer Science and M.Com & M.Sc. Food Service Management & Dietetics. The present college strength is 1037.There are 65 Teaching and 20 non-teaching staff members.

The serene campus of AIMAN College consists of an administrative Block, three two-storeyed academic blocks, one resplendent auditorium, fantabulous seminar hall replete with LCD projectors and audio-video systems, futuristic Computer lab, ultra-modern fashion technology laboratory, advanced Digital Language Lab, well stacked automated library, well equipped Physics and Chemistry lab and a fully furnished luxurious Nutrition and Dietetics lab.A gratifying cafeteria runs inside the campus which serves hot and cold, rich and healthy food at an affordable price for all those who visit the campus. The canteen is maintained neat, clean and hygienic ensuring the health of the consumers. The entire campus is monitored under CCTV surveillance to ensure a safe and secure learning environment for the students.

AIMAN is a campus which attracts students from several parts of the state. To affirm the safety and security of the residential students, the campus is inbuilt with a comfortable hostel facility. The hostel consist of rooms with A/C and rooms without A/C, a large kitchen and a dining hall, cleanand maintained regularly. An exclusive NRI block is also available with air conditioner.

The day scholars commute by 13 college buses from the city and places 25kms away from the college as well. A free shuttle bus service is also available from central Bus- stand to College. Discipline and character building are given prime importance in the college.Moral and Deeniyath classes are held regularly. A modest Masjid adds to the spiritual component of the campus.

The college has been registering excellent results consistently in the UniversityExaminations ever since its inception. The college produces many rank holders every year.Most of the alumnae are well placed and well settled in our country and abroad. A Special feature of the college is the “MUBALLIGHA” Course- A Three Year Diploma Course offered under the auspices of the United Welfare Organization (UNWO), Chennai. As a part of Skill development, the students are given training in Tailoring, Spoken English, Hindi and Arabic Skills by experts in these fields. Add on courses are offered to the students by various departments to enrich their skills and increase employability. Short term /Certificate course/Diploma courses are conducted in the college by the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Carrier Development (IECD), Bharathidasan University, Trichy.

Special care is taken for physical fitness by providing sports and games facilities tothe students. As outreach programs, the students take part enthusiastically in extra-curricular activities like NSS (National Service Scheme), YRC (Youth Red Cross), RRC(Red Ribbon Club), Youth Exnora and CCC (Citizen Consumer Club) & ECO Club. In addition, LEO club also functions in the college to inculcate civic and social consciousness among students. They are also encouraged to participate in competitions and cultural events organized by other institutions. ELC (Electoral Literacy Club) engages students through interesting activities and hands-on experience to sensitise them on their electoral rights and familiarise them with the electoral process of registration and voting.Book Club provides an opportunity for the students to share information and the pleasure of reading. It helps the students to become enthusiastic and enthralled with wonderful world of literature. GCC (Gender Champions Club) are envisaged as responsible leaders who will facilitate an enabling environment within the institution where girls are treated with dignity, respect and strengthen the potential of these young people to advocate for gender equality and monitor progress towards gender justice. The College has signed an MOU with ICT Academy to enhance the skills of the students and provide the industry-institute interface and to enlighten the faculty through Faculty Development Programs Institution Innovation Council (IIC) an Initiative of MHRD for selected Higher Education Institutes Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India has established ‘MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). AIMAN College of Arts and Science for Women is a member IIC.The Ministry of Education (MoE) (formerly Ministry Human Resource Development (MHRD)) launched Unnat Bharat Abhiyan which is to enable Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to work with the rural people and identify the challenges they face and come up with solutions for their sustainable development. “Rural Entrepreneurship Development (RED) Cell Registered with MGNCRE” with a Mission to inculcate Entrepreneurship among students in Rural India, AIMAN College Of Arts And Science For Women has constituted Rural Entrepreneurship Development (RED) Cell under Mahatma Gandhi National Council for Rural Education (MGNCRE), Ministry of Education, Government of India. Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India. The Institution has successfully framed the SES REC Action Plan and constituted ten working groups for improving facilities in the campus and the Community/Adopted Villages in the areas of Sanitation & Hygiene, Waste Management,Water Management, Energy Conservation and Greenery post COV1D-19, along with the observation of three Environment, Entrepreneurship and Community Engagement related days to inculcate in faculty, students and community, the practices of Mentoring, Social Responsibility, Swachhta and Care for Environment and Resources.

The college aims at promoting academic excellence, develops discipline and self-reliance in students and makes them socially responsible citizens. The College strives to motivate its students to excel in every aspect of life and to have integrated dynamic personality. Students, being intellectually competent, morally upright, spiritually strong,purposefully oriented and sensitive to the needs of the society will be able to face life’s challenges courageously and work committedly for the welfare of all people without discrimination.
